I just received my hoodie today. Had my mastectomy last Friday 2/7. It is wonderful. Thank you and your volunteers SO VERY MUCH. I love it. So soft and perfect for my 4 drains from surgery. Your support for women affected by breast cancer is amazing. I can’t even thank you enough. I am an RN and work in the operating room where we do breast reconstructions. And I honestly thought I had everything I needed for my recovery. Until I got my sweatshirt. This is awesome. Thank you again for your work and support.

I reached out to Pockets of Hope just 8 days prior to my surgery for a bilateral mastectomy, after seeing an online video. I was quite unsure if I would receive a hoodie prior to my surgery, however, to my surprise it arrived the day before. This hoodie has allowed for ease of scheduled post-op appointments. I lived in this sweater for 2 weeks, washing it twice in that time. Each time I tried wearing a normal shirt the drains were bunched up, hanging, snagged and just looked awful. I really can't express how much this sweater really helped in my recovery. It will help again later when I get reconstruction. I was devastated by losing my breast but this gave me some normal in the after.

This was a gift for my mom who is scheduled for a masectomy in a few days. Exactly what she needs and so grateful for all you do & your help to those who need it.

Thank you so much for the sweatshirt. I came home with 6 drains after my surgery. The sweatshirt made having the drains so much easier to handle. I also ordered a pink pockets of hope sweatshirt which is so comfortable to wear now that all of my drains are out. I ordered one for my mom. She was originally going to have a lumpectomy, which the doctor said she could have drainage. Then, 1 week before surgery, plans changed, and a double mastectomy was scheduled instead. I ordered a fw shirts from Amazon, but my mom preferred this sweater much more. It was much more comfortable to be in, and the pockets felt much more secure. You guys are doing wonderful work. Thank you for sending a sweater her way!

I am so grateful for your drain friendly hoodies! The pockets were amazing. It made holding my drains easy. Last year, my two daughters, 27 and 31, made the difficult but brave decision to undergo prophylactic double mastectomies. I’m a two-time cancer survivor (breast and endometrial) and they both carry a BRcA mutation. I traveled across the country to be there for their surgeries and care for them afterward. I requested and received hoodies for both of them. They were so soft and stretchy and the pockets were so helpful for holding the drains and helping them recover more comfortably.
